Easy ways to incorporate color in your spring makeup routine

With spring slowly making its way over, that calls for bringing out all our colorful pieces—including our makeup. You don't have to go all out with colorful eyeshadow looks paired with bright lips, but something as small as adding a warmer pink blush on your cheeks can easily take your look from winter to spring.

Eyeliner upgrade

@walker_ash

If a black or brown wing is part of your everyday makeup routine, consider changing it up this spring. You can start slow by trying out a navy blue or purple liner (we heart L.A. Girl's Shockwave Eyeliner in Vivid, $4.49, ulta.com), but soon enough you'll be bold enough to try out some more vibrant colors and eyeliner styles. You might even find the perfect color to make your eyes pop!

Pigmented blush

@kennedyclairewalsh

This is perhaps the easiest way to bring color into your makeup routine. For the spring, blush becomes an essential item in our routines—for that perfect sunkissed look. While you might've worn light pink shades throughout the winter, try out some warmer coral shades for the springtime. We recommend Rare Beauty's Stay Vulnerable Melting Cream Blush in Nearly Apricot, $21, sephora.com.

Bold lip

@char_barker

If you're not a huge fan of heavy eye makeup looks and prefer a more natural base, you can show color through your lipstick. A bold lip can be a bright red or more subtle with a pigmented gloss (like Tower 28 Beauty's ShineOn Jelly Lip Gloss, $15, sephora.com). With a bold lip, you'll look instantly put together—and get an extra shot of confidence, natch.

Colorful mascara

@sophialacorteee

A super fun option is to play around with your mascara. Switch out your go-to black mascara for a vibrant blue hue. You can also find tons of other colors to make your eye color stand out or to match your outfits. Regardless, our current fave is Benefit Cosmetic's BADGal BANG! Volumizing Mascara in Blue, $27, ulta.com.

Iridescent highlighter

@neocbb

For a more subtle way to incorporate color, choose an iridescent highlighter with the color you prefer, such as pink or purple (we love Stila's Heaven's Hue Highlighter in Transcendence, $34, ulta.com). This way, you can highlight the key points of your face with a spring vibe. It's so light and fun that people will only notice the pop of color as you turn or the sun hits your face. You glow, girl.
