Easy Holiday Party Hairstyles

Welcome 2010 with a hot new hairstyle!
New Year’s Eve is sure to be a long and fun night, but we’ve got some style tips that will have your hair lookin’ fab (and festive!) 'til the wee hours of the morn.

Bored of the bun? Sick of the side pony? Jazz it up! Try some of these party-worthy ideas!

Do the wave

Go from straight to crazy-crimped! Crinkly hair is a fun and easy-to-pull-off party style. For starts, separate dry hair into sections using clips. With your hair between the grates, clamp down and squeeze shut for a few seconds. Crimp each section starting at your scalp working toward the ends. Do your whole head or just a few selected sections.

No time to mess with a crimper? After you get out of the shower braid your whole head (with the help of your BFF or mama, of course!), or just certain pieces while you're hair is still wet. Let your strands dry in the braids and voila! Leave it down or pull it back. Oh-so-cool crimps!

Color it up

Hair mascara is a fun and easy way to dress up your hair for any NYE party. Plus, colorful metallic strands are oh-so-festive! Go gold, pearl or copper. Add highlights all around or stick with just one or two fashionable streaks. It washes out with your regular shampoo, so Mom will let ya get away with this one. Sport your new streaks in an updo or let 'em hang down. Either way, you're sure to make a statement.

Cool coils

Lately, the buzz is all about braids. Leave your hair down and create a few tiny ones all over your head. Or try out a messy braid. First, apply a strong-hold mousse onto your wet locks. Blow-dry your hair and pull it up into a high ponytail. Secure with hair tie and braid, securing another hair tie at the bottom. The key is to make the braid messy! If strands are falling out or the three parts of the braid are uneven, this will add to the easy-going effect.
