Rock Oscar-Inspired Frocks to Your Spring Dance

The Academy Awards is the prom of Hollywood, so it’s no surprise all eyes are on the gorgeous gowns and elegant ensembles.
Now, it’s time to take a few style cues from the best and most memorable looks of the night. With a few more wearable (and way less pricey!) finds, you can channel your inner A-lister.
Anna Kendrick’s gown was a pretty pink confection. You’ll look like you stepped straight out of a fairytale, Princess. Rosettes, chiffon and an oh-so-sweet hue…how romantic!

Anna’s costar, Vera Farmiga, opted for a gorge magenta gown. It had loads of ruffles, an eye-popping asymmetrical design and a bit of a train. A shorter version is more real world and less red carpet.

Zoe Saldana’s dress was pretty, purple and utterly unforgettable. Go slightly more casual with a ruffled ombre skirt. Add a sequined tank and peep-toe pumps. Huge jewelry is a must!

Girls Embroidered Tiered Skirt, $15, oldnavy.com

J. Lo’s dress was white-hot with tonsa volume. Add a little twist to your usual angelic dress by picking one with ruffled tiers and an asymmetrical bow. Sweet, but still white-hot.
Flounce Party Dress, $30, forever21.com

We heart the rich cobalt color Gabourey Sidibe wore last night. In a nod to Gab's drapes and sparkles, choose a frock with a frilly collar. Looking this good will leave you feeling anything but blue!

Frill Front Strappy dress, $27, asos.com

Diane Kruger made a seriously chic statement in a black and off-white number. It’s super-sophisticated for a dance, so keep your hair down or a in a loose side pony. Sooo pretty.
