6 ways to start the new year on the right foot

It’s the last day of break, so do it up right. Here’s how to relax and recharge before you hit the halls tomorrow.

Step 1: Stay in your PJs.

Hey, you’re not gonna have this much lounge time for a while. Live it up in your cute new holiday jams and pop on some awesome slippers.

Step 2: Write out those resolutions.

Break out the construction paper, some markers and glitter (this is GL—we add glitter to everything). Brainstorm your best resolution ideas if you haven’t already and pen them down on your colorful paper. Yes, you cold do this on the computer but sometimes it’s more fun to do things the old-fashioned way. Hang these signs wherever you see fit in your bedroom.

Step 3: Declutter your room.

Before you groan, think about it this way: don’t you want to start the year feelin’ totally fresh? Eliminate any evidence of Santa’s workshop: Put wrapping paper back in its place, recycle gift boxes and—gasp—put all your prezzies in their new spots.

Step 4: Do a DIY facial.

Between traveling and a crammed sched, the holidays put a lot of stress on our skin. Soothe your complexion with a gentle face mask. We’re hooked on this veggie-inspired one. Follow the instructions on the package, rinse it off and apply moisturizer. Ahhh….

Step 5: Put your thanks in words.

Yep, it’s time to write out your thank you notes. Don’t waste another second. Send all that gratitude out into the world by thanking each and every person who bought a prezzie for you.

Step 6: Relax!

Draw up a bubble bath, light a yummy candle or read your fave book. This year’s gonna be great, right?
