10 easy ways to look smokin' in a swimsuit

With the end of school and the start of summer quickly approaching, the stress of homework and tests finally disappears, hooray!  But for many babes a new stress arises: wearing a swimsuit.  The thought of putting on a swimsuit for the first time in months is enough to make a girl want to run for the hills.  But fear not, ladies! We’ve got 10 easy ways to help you feel confident and gorgeous in your swimsuit this summer.

1. Eat healthy.

There is no worse feeling than eating a huge plate of French fries and then having to throw on a swimsuit and head down to the beach.  Fried and fatty foods make you bloated and gassy, so try to limit them when you know you’re going to be rockin’ a swimsuit. Stick to yummy foods full of fiber and healthy nutrients like strawberries, blueberries, apricots, and plums.

2. Use a shimmery, moisturizing sunscreen.

A sunscreen with a bit of shimmer reflects light and highlights your skin tone.  Try Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect sunscreen.  It has minerals that make you look gorgeous and gleaming while still protecting your skin with SPF 40!

3. Pick a swimsuit that flatters your shape.

Every girl is different; so don’t feel pressure to wear an itty-bitty bikini.  When you wear a suit you feel great in, you’ll look great too.  Having confidence in yourself is half the battle.  We love this adorable maillot!

4. Exercise.
Take a jog around your neighborhood or go on a fast-paced walk with your pals.  Sweating is good for you! Exercising regularly will boost your self-esteem and give you reason to be proud of your body.

5. Practice good posture.
Pulling your shoulders back automatically makes your tummy look flatter and makes you look taller and leaner.  So stand tall, girl!

6. Stop the negative talk.
It’s easy to get down on yourself and think of all the things you don’t love about your body. Try thinking about all the things you DO love about your body. Maybe you’ve got great legs from all those years of ballet or beautiful long hair you spent months growing out. Whatever it is, focus on it and embrace it!

7. Treat yourself to some fun, summery accessories.
Wearing a cute pair of sunglasses, an impossibly big floppy hat, or a tribal necklace is a great way to add to your swimsuit and draw attention to your face.

8. Give yourself a mani-pedi.

Bright nail polishes are everywhere right now. Having your fingers and toes painted will make you feel pretty and put together. Our fave hue of the moment? Fiery coral.

9. Put a smile on!

It’s your best accessory. Laughing and smiling let your personality shine through and will melt your insecurities away!

10. Have self-confidence.

When you’re confident in yourself, it’s noticeable. Yeah, wearing swimsuits in front of other people can be uncomfortable, but with a dose of confidence, your self-esteem will get a major boost.  So work it, girly!
