These are the top trends from New York Fashion Week 2024

Move over, clean girl aesthetic: This spring's New York Fashion Week is *all* about the maximalist looks... and we are so here for it! Read on for a round-up of some of our fave trends that we've been spotting on the runways so far.

Vintage girl autumn

@annasui

Anna Sui's Fall 2024 collection was inspired by Agatha Christie (and, ofc, had its fashion show at NYC's famous independent bookstore The Strand for peak dark academia vibes). What better way to romanticize being in an old-timey murder mystery?

We're in love with these cozy-chic looks complete with vintage finds: think shearling, autumnal oranges and earthy patterns for the best black-coffee-in-a-bookstore-in-November looks.

Mixed knits

@eckhaus_latta

Eckhaus Latta piled on the knits in different patterns and textures for their Fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Their show featured all kinds of knits—from rib stitch to bouclé combined in one cardigan and slouchy knit tank tops in a chic n' subtle palette of gray, brown and yellow.

Futuristic touches

The most futuristic fit we've seen so far this week? Christian Cowan wins. He closed his Fall/Winter 2024 show with this fab dress, designed using Adobe's Project Primrose technology. Mini circuit boards animate the dress so it subtly changes shades, making the silver dress look like it's rippling or blowing in the wind! PSA: The fit is fly (literally).

And in case you were looking for a way to make these avant-garde trends oh-so-wearable, TOMS debuted their new collection at the same event (teaching us yet again that comfort and style are Not! Mutually! Exclusive!).

Fur and fuzz

@sascha._.alexandra

The biggest and boldest fashion statement of the szn? Fuzzy maximalism. Especially since the mob-wife aesthetic is making a cameo this year, fur hats and coats are *so* our next move. Models like Sascha Alexandra brought all the warm 'n' fuzzy pieces to NYFW this year, and we couldn't be more obsessed. These oversized fuzzy statement hats have us all feeling posh and chic—not to mention the comfy coziness.

Metallics

Ofc, it doesn't get any more maximalist than pairing metallics with animal print. This year, The Blonds collection was all about mesmerizing and eye-catching looks. In addition to all the glitz and glamor of these bejeweled designs, the looks are topped off with big and structured hairdos that *scream* futuristic icon.
