Liza trips—and it’s a long way down to the dark and dripping depths of Below, an eerie underworld beneath our own. Can she rescue her brother’s soul—and make it back with her own intact? Check out her spine-tingling story in The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver then get inspired to create a creepy craft that could be featured on Girlslife.com! Keep reading for all the deets.

Secrets of The Spindlers
Patrick is Liza’s chubby, stubby, candy-grubbing and pancake-loving younger brother—until she wakes up one day and…he’s not. He’s no longer the annoying little jokester terrorizing her slumber parties or hiding bugs in her lunch box. Um, what’s with the weirdness?

But Liza knows exactly what happened. The spindlers—foul, spiderish creatures—have stolen her baby bro’s soul. And she’s certain that she’s the only one who can get it back.

Liza enters the dark, dank underworld of Below through a cobweb-encrusted hole in her basement. Led to the spindlers’ nests by a talking rat, her mission is so much more than carved pumpkins and silly spirits in sheets.

She encounters sinister snake-like shape shifters called scawgs and must conquer death-defying tests from the evil spindler queen—tests she must pass or else her soul, too, will remain Below forever.

As Liza races against the clock, she must save Patrick’s soul before the seriously freaky Feast of the Souls. Will the strength of love and loyalty prevail? Or will Patrick and Liza be lost Below forever? This chilling thriller will leave you shivering with excitement as you journey with Liza through the underworld. So tell us: Are you up for a creepy quest of your own?
