Corey Harper's "Keeping Me Alive" video is so soulful

No doubt, Justin Bieber is a controversial celeb. But when it comes down to it, the 22-year-old musician has released quite a few killer tracks in his day, proving he knows a thing or two about music. So despite the fact that he posts questionable photos on his Instagram—that is, when he had an Instagram—we trust in his taste in tunes. Which is why we've been vibing out to Corey Harper's new music video for "Keeping Me Alive" lately.

Corey, 22, served as an opening act on the Pacific Northwest leg of Bieb's Purpose Tour, where he performed this new song. The track tells the tale of his cousin who passed away due to an accident when she was in middle school, Corey told Teen Vogue. He said the song helps him cope with what happened, and we think it could do the same for others in similar situations.

"I think everyone goes through times where they need to be vulnerable and express the feelings they have inside them. This song serves as a blueprint for me to get in touch with those emotions, and a pathway to find healing through it."

On tour, the Portland-gone-Venice cutie got to learn a thing or two about—and from—Biebs. "I've gained a lot of perspective on the way I approach music just from hanging with him sporadically. He has a humbling way of always reassuring confidence in me, and supporting my music."

You can keep up with Corey via Instagram and Twitter, and feast your ears on his new EP when it's released this fall.

We think Corey's "Keeping Me Alive" music video is soulful and touching—what do you think?
