The best Thanksgiving TV episodes to binge watch

Picture this: It's the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and you're *finally* on break. You've just caught up on your homework, and your extended family who's staying for Thanksgiving isn't arriving for a while. You've already done your chores, so you have practically a whole day to kill. What should you do?

If you're anything like us, you love an iconic Thanksgiving episode. Here are (some of) the best of the best to binge-watch: either during the month of November or in the days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Gossip Girl

Super rich kids + holiday dinner = tons of drama! The classic teen drama had a Thanksgiving episode for almost every season, so it obviously deserves a spot on the list. Out of all of them, we have to single out Season 3, Episode 11, "The Treasure of Serena Madre." The drama, the tension, the angst! All of it boils down to a stoic Thanksgiving dinner scene where the tension is palpable through the screen. Watching all the characters angrily storm away from the table while tossing their napkins on the floor was truly iconic. Any episode that includes Jason Derulo's "Watcha Say" is an automatic history-maker in our book.

Friends

Another show with plenty of amazing Thanksgiving episodes to choose from! With 10 turkey-themed episodes—one per season— the options are truly endless. One of the most memorable scenes from the show in general (Monica with a turkey on her head) comes from Season 5, Episode 8, "The One With All the Thanksgivings." If you're truly feeling brave, binge all of the 10 episodes in one day. However, if you want more time to watch some of the other entries on our list, we suggest sticking with Season 3, Episode 9, "The One With the Football." No one does a sibling rivalry quite like Ross and Monica Geller.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Yet again, another show with plenty of Thanksgiving episodes to watch! Sure, the ones in the later seasons with Jake and Amy's parents are hilarious, we have a soft spot in our heart for the ones that take place with the squad. Episode 10 of the first season, appropriately titled "Thanksgiving," features a sitcom classic: everything going wrong and ruining the plans of the super put-together character. We love the moment where all the main characters get to sit down together after a hectic holiday and enjoy dinner.

Gilmore Girls

Season three is the best season of Gilmore Girls (don't fight us on this), so ofc, it has to include a Thanksgiving episode. Episode 9, "A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving" feels like a warm hug, with Lorelai and Rory attending 4 different Thanksgiving celebrations on one night. It's got everything we love about GG: witty banter, family drama, and a whole lot of love. Any episode of Gilmore Girls that includes Dave Rygalski (who should've ended up with Lane) is top-tier in our book. The fact that it's a Thanksgiving episode makes it even better.
