Spend New Year's Eve with Jake T. Austin

While we hate to say goodbye to 2011, we know it’s going to end on an awesome note. One reason? We get to drool over Wizards of Waverly Place cutie Jake T. Austin on the big screen.

Jake sure has a busy month. He not only turned 17 today, but he’s also prepping for the Dec. 9 theatrical release of his romantic comedy New Year’s Eve. We got a chance to catch up with the cutie and had him spill all about his NYE character Seth and the flick’s all-star cast.
GL: What’s your favorite thing about Seth?
Jake: He goes after what he wants and he’s very direct. I think those are great qualities.
You share a kiss with Abigail Breslin in this flick! What’s one thing you were surprised to learn about her?
She’s just a very normal girl despite all her success. She’s starred in so many fantastic movies at a very young age, but she’s managed to stay completely grounded. I really enjoyed working with her.
What’s the funniest thing that happened on the New Year’s Eve set?
We were shooting in Queens and some kids recognized Nat Wolff and myself and we got mobbed in the middle of a scene. It was funny because [director] Garry Marshall almost got trampled by a bunch of kids.
The film takes place in your hometown of New York. If you could spend New Year’s anywhere, where would it be?
Midtown Manhattan, right where the ball drops. That’s the center of the action. I’d love to be there with my family and all my friends when the clock ticks over.
What’s the first thing you wanna do in 2012?
Go snowboarding with my friends. We’ll see if that happens.

Catch a peek at New Year's Eve, in theaters Dec. 9, below…

If you could spend New Year’s Eve with Jake T. Austin, where would you want to go? Blog about it, babes.
