Dec. 14, 2013, marked a year since the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Twenty-six people were killed on that day—20 children and six adults. Our hearts are certainly in Connecticut, and so was that of our incredible Dec/Jan ’14 cover girl, Willow Shields. Sure, she’s the star of one of the nation’s biggest blockbusters. But that doesn’t mean she can’t make a difference in the world, off the silver screen.

Yesterday, she posted this snap on her Instagram account. Boy, were we inspired to follow suit!
