Okay, here's the deal with all of the Ariana Grande drama

If you've been on Twitter, Facebook or really any kind of social media in the past few days, there's a pretty good chance you've seen people talking about Ariana Grande. In the past few days, she's been making plenty of headlines—and for more than just her music.

That's right, lately all of the Ariana news has focused on one thing: donuts. Or more specifically, licking donuts. In a recent video that surfaced earlier this week, security footage caught Ariana licking (and maybe even spitting on) donuts in a donut shop in Lake Elsinore, CA. Even worse? The tape also caught Ariana saying, "I hate Americans" and "I hate America." Yikes.

After the vid went viral, catching the attention of fans and critics alike, Ari came under serious heat for her actions and words in the donut shop. And though the official reason Ari dropped out as the headline of the Major League Baseball All Star concert was to recover from her wisdom surgery (she was replaced by Demi Lovato, BTW), plenty of people speculated that it might be related to what she said.

Ari could tell she was in trouble, though, and released a statement to apologize, saying, "I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American... What I said in a private moment... was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words. As an advocate for healthy eating, food is very important to me and I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole.... However I should have known better in how I expressed myself; and with my new responsibility to others as a public figure I will strive to be better."

While fans were glad Ari was taking responsibility for what she said, many thought her apology just wasn't quite good enough and that, even worse, she didn't address the other major problem: the licking of the donuts.

Luckily, Ari decided to go a step further and recorded a video to explain her actions, accept blame and make amends. She even acknowledged that her previous statement didn't cover things: "I feel like the apology I posted, I kind of missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologize." Watch the full apology here.

Though Ari still didn't fess up about why she thought it would be a good idea to lick the donuts (we're not sure there is a good reason), she did say that, no matter what, there were no excuses for what she did.

Despite all the drama, we're pretty sure that Ariana is definitely going to learn from this experience and we're glad she's owned up to her mistakes.

Do you think Ariana will be better behaved going forward? What mistakes have you learned from?
