Ease on down the road with The Wiz Live! tonight

The hills were alive when NBC aired its first live musical The Sound of Music two Decembers ago. The year after, they took us to Neverland with a real-time production of Peter Pan. This year, travel to Oz with their newest production of the Tony award-winning show The Wiz.

With a star-studded cast that includes movie musical veterans like Chicago's Queen Latifah (The Wiz), Hairspray's Elijah Kelley (Scarecrow) and Rock of Ages' Mary J. Blige (Evillene the Wicked Witch), plus Glee gal Amber Riley (Addaperle the Good Witch) and Broadway's original Dorothy Stephanie Mills (Auntie Em), this show is a can't miss for any music or musical lover.

You'll also get the chance to meet Shanice Williams, the 19-year-old playing Dorothy in her first ever professional role. "I'm super excited right now," she told NBC News. "I want this generation to have that opportunity to fall in love with The Wiz also because it's a great story. Everyone at a point in their life is struggling to find out who they are and where they belong. And I'm just happy that they will now get that opportunity."

Check out the trailer below for your first look at tonight's The Wiz Live!

And be blown away by Shanice and Stephanie's full performance of "Home."

Are you excited for The Wiz Live! tonight (12/3)? What are your favorite musicals? Tune in to NBC at 8:00 p.m. for a night of music and magic.
