The Allan Twins on their roles in Nickelodeon's new holiday live action film

The holiday season is the perfect time to share a little bit of love and laughter with the family (especially with your siblings). Nickelodeon's new holiday live action film, A Loud House Christmas, follows the Loud family as Lincoln Loud, the only brother out of ten sisters, attempts to bring his family together to celebrate. However, the sisters have their own plans for Christmas, and that includes Lola and Lana Loud.

Ella and Mia Allan, also known as The Allan Twins, star as Lola (Ella) and Lana (Mia) Loud in this family fun film. They began their career at only six months old and have starred in a series of TV shows and movies since. The dynamic duo talked with GL about their fave on-set moments and what it's like to be identical twins.

GL: Can you tell us what A Loud House Christmas is all about?

E&M: A Loud House Christmas brings Nickelodeon's Emmy Award winning cartoon Loud House and characters from the town of Royal Woods to life for the holidays. Our brother, Lincoln Loud (played by Wolfgang Schaeffer), gets ready for the ultimate Christmas. He finds out that most of his sisters already made plans to be somewhere else for the big day, so he's willing to do anything he can to remind his family that they all need to be together. He enlists help from his best friend, Clyde McBride (played by Jahzir Bruno), to make that happen.

GL: What was your favorite on-set moment?

E&M: Doing the snowball fight! It was our first scene with everyone and a really fun way to break the ice.

GL: How do you relate to your characters, Lola and Lana Loud?

E&M: We are quite like our characters but not as extreme. If the characters were switched, it would take a lot more acting for it to work the other way.

Ella: Lola Loud thinks she's the boss of everyone, especially Lincoln who believes she's a beauty queen and thinks everyone should see her that way. Like Lola, I can be a bit bossy but more because I'm determined and know what I want. I have a great imagination and like a good adventure. I do like to dress a bit girly (even if it's just dress up).

Mia: Lana Loud is a lot more chill than Lola. She's a down-and-dirty type of gal who holds her ground but also doesn't want to bother herself with the drama. She's a good sister and loves animals (especially her pet frog). Like Lana, I'm my own boss and march to the beat of my own drum. I have a mischievous side and enjoy pranking people with my favorite accomplice, Ella.

GL: What is it like working together as sisters?

E&M: In our previous experiences, we have switched out for the same role and worked together as twin sisters. This creates competitiveness. At this point, we prefer to work together; we don't want to limit ourselves. However, there are very few roles where identical twins play twins, and we have been fortnuate to be cast in those roles.

GL: What is the best part about being a twin duo?

E&M: We both have talents that are similar but with different variations. We both bring something unique to the table while maintaining our own skill set. In our audition tapes, we approach the same scene or character with our own interpretation. Our tapes comes out with slight enough differences to shift the insight of the experience. In life (as well as the twin chracters we've played), we usually have some kind of individuality but together we are a powerhouse team!

GL: What's next for you?

E&M: We would love to work together as twins, whether it be something we create as a new idea or a spin off of Lola and Lana. There are a lot of options since there aren't many twin roles out there. We would also love to do a project with our little brother, Justin Allan.

GL: What's one piece of Christmas advice you would give this year?

E&M: It is better to give than to get.
