The best looks at the Met Gala

The most prominent fashion and art event of the year is back—and we couldn't be more excited. The Met Gala showcases the biggest names in the entertainment industry—dressed to the nines, natch. This year's theme, "Gilded Glamour," references New York's Gilded Age, which spanned from 1870 to 1890. The rapid industrialization growth of this era translated into faster production of clothing, making those decades a massive step for the fashion industry.

Here are some of our *fave* looks that stunned this prestigious event.

Blake Lively
Although this is her 10th Met Gala appearance, Blake Lively's looks continue to improve each year. Here, she wears a Versace ball gown with gloves *and* a tiara. The gown has interesting detailing, as well as a  mixture of textures inspired by New York's landmarks.

Billie Eilish
This look was equal parts incredible and eco-friendly. Billie Eilish's Gucci dress was constructed with upcycled materials. We're living for this pastel moment and how it balanced out the harshness of her edgy dark hair. With a beautiful corset and sleeves, Billie was definitely on the spot with this theme.

Olivia Rodrigo
This look perfectly balanced both the theme as well as the SOUR era. In a stunning Versace purple dress with gloves, she channeled her own personal style with her signature color (purple, ofc) and butterflies. (Fun fact: In the Gilded Age, butterflies were considered an extremely wealthy insect to obtain.)

Conan Gray
Conan Gray looked phenomenal in this number with a sheer cape, embellished blouse, sequined pants and platform boots. Often seen with bestie Olivia Rodrigo, it's no surprise they both rocked the Met Gala. The jewels in his hair brought the entire look together.

Sabrina Carpenter
This sparkly and shimmering Paco Rabanne gown gave us *major* princess vibes. She pulled the look together with some messy hair and classic jewelry. Despite it being her first Met Gala, Sabrina looked fabulous.

@enews

Maude Apatow
The standout part of this look was definitely the hair, but this Miu Miu dress did not disappoint. Maude Apatow brought the fringe with this sheer maxi dress—plus its beautiful off-the-shoulder neckline encapsulated alll the Gilded Glamour.

@sydney_sweeney

Sydney Sweeney
This absolutely incredible gown, train + corset combo designed by Tory Burch made Sydney Sweeney stand out from the rest of the guests. From her makeup to her hair, Sydney's look was fun, fresh and feminine.

@oscardelarenta

Daisy Edgar Jones
In a super glittery moment from Oscar de la Renta (with fringe, nbd), Daisy Edgar Jones had a simpler look than other guests but was still stunning. It gave total flapper vibes, and she brought the look together with statement blue eyeshadow.
