News Flash: Parents Track Teens on Facebook

It’s no surprise that parents have taken to Facebook like a fish to water…a fish that likes to stalk their fishy young as they swim off into the deep. But according to Tech News Daily, 72 percent of parents surveyed monitor their teen’s profile on the popular social network. About a third do it every single day.

They’re only doin’ it ‘cause they love ya, girlies. Most of ‘em think you’re pretty responsible about sharing personal info online and 98 percent said your online privacy is important.

But do they expect to be on the inside or the outside of that privacy screen—now that’s the question!

Eight-two percent of parents surveyed want to have access to your account…so they can delete the stuff they don’t approve of. Yikes!

Before embracing your parents’ presence on social networking sites, it’s smart to lay some guidelines. Sure, you’ll be their “friend,” but they need to respect your relationships with other peeps, too.

Whether or not you hit “accept,” consider that Facebook is continually in flux and you’re probably not as private as you think you are. Double check your privacy settings and think twice before posting. Do you really need to be sharing your digits and other personal deets online?

Oh, and one more thing: Keep it clean, OK?
Would you friend your 'rents on FB? Blog about it, babes!
