Tough Luck for TV-land

tvgirl.jpg

Hey girlie, think you've got it good ‘cause you have your very own TV in your room? Think again! The New York Times recently reported that new research shows that kids with TVs in their rooms score lower on standardized tests AND are twice as likely to start smoking!

About half of kids in the U.S. have a tube right in their room. No one is sure why the television has become such a problem, but science tells us... TV in room = higher body mass index. Even though research shows that less TV time doesn’t increase exercise, but it does decrease snacking.

Maybe watching TV while doing your homework isn't such a good idea after all, or maybe tube time is getting in the way of sleep time. Either way, the results are NO good. So, don't let your room become TV-land!
