USA womens soccer team headed to World Cup final!
USA! USA! USA!
Last night, the US women’s soccer team faced off against Germany in the Women’s World Cup semifinals. It was anybody’s game—Germany had scored the most goals of any team this tournament and the USA had only let one goal past them the entire competition.
There were fouls and penalty shots, but the American team ultimately emerged victorious, beating the German team 2-0. This means that the USA is headed to the final match! The US has won the Women’s World Cup twice in the past, but not since 1999. This Sunday night, they’ve got a chance to emerge victorious a third time. Depending on the rest of the week’s matches, they’ll be facing either England or Japan.
We can’t wait to watch these US ladies kick some serious goals (and butt) this weekend.
