The all-girl music festival you won't want to miss

Who runs the world? Girlsor at least they're running a brand new music festival in San Francisco. On October 8, 2016, Together Fest will bring together some of the nation's top DJs and artists in a rocking indoor show produced by Audrey Joseph and DJ Leah Jackson (aka Ms. Jackson). And what makes it different than most festivals?  Everyone from the performers to security to the bartenders are women. Talk about *mega* girl power.

We are well aware of the gender gap, but we didn't realize how prevalent it is on the festival scene. The Huffington Post reported that 66-93% of the performers at the top 10 American music festivals are male. Together Fest, featuring artists like Brazzabelle, Dani Deahl, Uniqu3, and more, aims to close that gap.

Leah Jackson recently told the Huffington Post, "We want women who are talented, excited and who share that belief that women deserve a safe space and community. That doesn’t exist anywhere else, and I think for this specific industry ― because it’s so male-focused ― an event like this really does open up so many more doors for women."
