How one high schooler made basketball history this weekend

This girl has got serious game!

Friday night is a big night for basketball, and that was especially true this weekend when on Jan. 6, 15-year-old high school sophomore from Colorado, Francesca Belibi, became the first known girls basketball player in Colorado history to dunk in a game, according to the Aurora Sentinel.

The video below, originally from Francesca's high school's basketball team's Twitter account, shows the talented player in action!

Though she's sunk dunks in practices before, Francesca was just as shocked as the crowd after she made the epic shot. In an interview with the newspaper Francesca said, "I didn’t expect it to be honest with you. I don’t know, I just did it. I didn’t realize it went in until I heard the crowd and heard the snap [of the rim]. Then I definitely heard my teammates. I think the crowd definitely understands the importance behind it—the first girl to dunk—but it was completely unexpected. Girls don’t dunk.”

Turns out, though, that girls *do* dunk!
