Greta Thunberg's climate strike turns digital

Just because we can't by physically together doesn't mean we can't raise one voice! We've told you about 17-year-old Greta Thunberg's inspiring fight to spread awareness about climate change, and her #FridaysForFuture movement, where she encourages young people to protest against the lack of government action on climate change. However, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, her Friday climate strikes have been moved to the internet.

On March 11, 2020, Greta took to Twitter to announce the change, outlining how you can join the movement from home. All you have to do is make a protest sign, then take a pic of it and upload it with #ClimateStrikeOnline, #fridaysforfuture, #climatestrike and #schoolstrike4climate.

Greta is obviously super concerned about everyone's safety during the pandemic, but she is also continuously concerned about climate change. "In a crisis we change our behaviour and adapt to the new circumstances for the greater good of society," she recently tweeted—and #ClimateStrikeOnline is exactly that. Social-distancing may take away our ability to gather, but it does not take away our voices. Thanks, Greta!

Will you join the digital #ClimateStrikeOnline movement? Let us know in the comments!
