Gamin' and Grades?

Sure you might spend hours of fun trying to reach a new level on a video game, but a recent study shows that all of this video game time can have a negative effect on teens, like a higher risk for attention deficit disorders among other issues, according to EmaxHealth.

The study conducted at Iowa State University found that 1 in 10 young people between the ages of 8 and 18 show unhealthy addictive behavior associated with too much video game usage. Some negative outcomes in the addicted teens were lower grades in school, an inclination to steal and many health problems. The teens who played at least 24 hours a week were also twice as likely to show signs of ADD and ADHD.

The researchers say there is a lot more work to be done with these findings and the video game addiction in some teens could just be a sign of a bigger problem, like depression.

GL loves a good game, but if you think you're playin' too much, we recommend you talk with your 'rents and come up with an appropriate daily time limit!
