Sweet tunes with Allison Moorer
Need a break from the always moving, “let’s go party” kind of music? Then check out Allison Moorer!
To be honest, I’d never heard of Allison. But after listening to about three seconds of her new single, “The Broken Girl,” off her new album Crows (in stores now), I loved her.
To be honest, I’d never heard of Allison. But after listening to about three seconds of her new single, “The Broken Girl,” off her new album Crows (in stores now), I loved her.
Allison has been around for a while under the country genre—one I’m not personally a fan of. But there was something in her music that I couldn’t ignore. Crows has less of the southern-twang sound than some of Allison’s other albums, but you can definitely feel her country roots.
The tracks on Crows remind me of something I would love to listen to while doing homework, or when reading a book with a cup of cocoa. A girl must have her downtime, you know, and this album is the perfect background music to such favorable scenarios.
Some of my faves off the album are “Goodbye To The Ground,” “Crows” and, of course, “The Broken Girl.” They’re slightly more upbeat than the others—though it’s hard to distinguish fast and slow on this track list. So if you’re looking for some mellow tunes that will put ya in a relaxed mood, this CD will do just that.
