Must List

Tune in: Ashlyne Huff

If your dad was a big music producer, you’d always be wary of showcasing your musical abilities, right? Ashlyne Huff has definitely been through that. Her dad, Dann Huff, is a very well known producer (he helped out with Keith Urban and the Rascal Flatts), and she was afraid to sing at first.

After seeing an episode of Full House, where Stephanie dances to a song by the B-52’s, Ashlyne decided that she wanted to dance. When she was only 11, she joined the Opryland Kids Club during the last year the park was open. Singing was part of the gig, though, and so Ashlyne soon had to face her fears.

Good thing she did because her pop-genre, self-titled debut album (out today, May 11) is fantastic! Filled with a great variety of tunes, it’s one we can’t stop listening to.

“Heart of Gold” is the first track on the album, and it’s also her first released single. The song definitely has a bit of dance beats because, when you listen, you won’t be able to stop tapping your toes. According to Ashlyne, the song is about a guy who is afraid of relationships. Who hasn’t been there before, right?

The song “Heartbeat” has lyrics that any girl can relate to—the feeling that she won’t find the perfect guy. But, as Ashlyne agrees, we need to relax, because we have tons of time.

All girls want to know why boys don’t like to see them cry, and the song “Make It Rain” asks that very same question. Sometimes we just don’t want to talk about it, but cry and be held instead.

You might’ve caught Ashlyne on the road with Honor Society and Just Kait recently, but now check out her debut album and let us know your favorite tracks.
