Must List

Our 13 favorite scary flicks - part two

It's just not the oh-so-spooky season without a good scare-the-pants-off-of-ya flick. Lucky for you, we’ve come up with 13 guaranteed to have you watching through your fingers. Grab your bestie…you won’t want to catch these alone.

In Part One of our spooky movie special, we brought ya monsters, serial killers and ghosts. Eek!

Now in Part Two, we’re giving you spooky animation, a crazy dad and, well, even more ghosts.

Coraline (PG) When Coraline discovers an alternative world where everyone is nice to her, she finds it to be a breath of fresh air. Even her parents seem happier and nicer—except for the fact they have buttons for eyes. Coraline doesn’t mind at first — that is, until they try to sew buttons on hers. This movie may be rated PG, but the alternate world had us thoroughly creeped out.

The Stepfather (PG-13) A horror movie for the Gossip Girl lover in all of us!  Michael (played by GG’s Penn Badgley) comes home from military school to learn that his mom has fallen in love with David, who is set to become his stepfather. Michael knows there is something not right about David and tries to prove it to everyone else…before they wind up dead.

Signs (PG-13) M. Night Shyamalan + Aliens + Crop circles = you sleeping with the lights on! Discovering crop circles in the cornfields is never a good thing—especially because they were created by aliens. Mel Gibson, who plays a single father, must find a way to get rid of these intruders before they have the chance to target his family.

Poltergeist (PG) Don’t let the PG rating fool you — this is one scary flick. A normal family is living a normal life when ghosts start communicating with the youngest of the clan, Carol Anne, through the television set. When the ghosts take her, Carol Anne’s family must find a way to get her back.

Secret Window (PG-13) A horror movie staring Johnny Depp…what could be more perfect? Mort is a writer who has just moved to a cabin in the woods. While going for a walk one day, he runs into a man who accuses him of stealing one of his stories. At first, Mort thinks nothing of the accusation because he knows it’s not true, but when strange things start happening to Mort and the people around him, he can’t ignore the man any longer. A thriller that’ll keep ya guessing, it has an ending that will make your jaws drop. Speaking of jaws…

Jaws (PG) Yeah, yeah this movie may be from when your parents grew up, but it had people staying out of the water for a long time. When shark attacks plague the waters near a New England town, a group of townsmen go out into the sea to hunt the culprit. This particular shark, Bruce, proves to be much harder to handle than any other, though. Check it out and you'll see what makes it one of the scariest movies of all time!

Did your favorite spooky flick make our list? Which is your fave? Blog about it, babes.
