The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards: Did you watch?

Last night, actor and comedian Kevin Hart took to the stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to host this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. While the VMAs have a history of being pretty over-the-top and flashy, they’re also quite entertaining. Going along with the upcoming presidential election, Hart strutted out in front of the audience with the introduction of “The future President of the United States” while surrounded by a security team of little people. Ridiculous? Yes. But we enjoyed it anyway.
The spectacle included performances from some of our favorite celebrities, including Rihanna, One Direction, and an amazing finale by Taylor Swift. Both Green Day and Alicia Keys premiered new songs, absolutely blowing the crowd away. And even the audience was invited to rush the stage.
In between performances, celebrities like Andy Samberg and Demi Lovato announced category winners. Sadly, some of our favorites didn’t win. So, who did get to take home a VMA Moon Man to display on their mantle? And who was lucky enough to score not one, not two, but three awards? Read on to find out!
