The 6 best holiday covers of the year

There are plenty of amazing things about the holiday season. Spending time with family, exchanging gifts, eating delicious food. As far as we’re concerned, it’s all good stuff!

However, we have to admit that our all-time fave thing about this time of year is Christmas music. One local radio station starts playing holiday tunes before Thanksgiving, which is crazy, but we still listen!

We know the songs can be cheesy, and after a month of non-stop play, we may get tired of them. But holiday music is such a fun and cheery way to catch the Christmas spirit. So we looked around and found some of our fave holiday classics, covered by today’s celebs!

“Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” – Michael Buble

It’s no wonder this cover is already one of our faves for this year—Michael Buble’s voice was made for smooth and silky Christmas tunes! Watch him rock out his cover on The Voice.

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” – Mariah Carey and Jimmy Fallon

So this is sort of Mariah Carey covering herself, but we’ll let it slide. After all, the instruments are so cool and unique, not to mention the cute little kids who sing back-up.

“Jingle Bells” – Cody Simpson

This cover was originally made to play in Alli Simpson’s movie 12 Dogs of Christmas, but it definitely made our holiday playlist. Nothing like spreading cheer with a cute Aussie.

“Sleigh Ride” – Karmin

This Youtube star duo put out this cover recently, and we are totally in love. Their voices blend perfectly, and they infused the beat with a bit more hip-hop feel to get us dancin’. Love it!

“Merry Christmas, Baby” – Colbie Caillat and Brad Paisley

This duo teamed up to cover an old classic, and we love how they created a totally new vibe for the tune. This song is on Colbie’s new holiday album, Christmas in the Sand.

“Holiday Mashup 2012” – IM5

To wrap up our holiday cover list, we’ve got the new video from swoon-worthy boy band IM5. They’ve mashed together all our favorites into one catchy tune, not to mention the video is pretty hilarious.

What’s your most-listened-to holiday classic? If you could cover any Christmas song, which would it be? Blog about it, babes.
