The latest news on your favorite Harry
While last week’s big news was Harry Styles’ new haircut, this week your other favorite Harry is in the news—Harry Potter, that is. The photos of the cast of J.K. Rowling’s upcoming play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, have just been revealed and they could not be any more spot on.
The family portrait includes Harry and Ginny Potter, played by Jamie Parker and Poppy Miller, and their youngest son Albus Severus Potter played by Sam Clemmett.
Dressed in a simple suit and tie, Jamie Parker rocks the familiar scar and glasses. Harry now works at the Ministry, which is why he is a bit dressed up—and he perfectly portrays just how you would imagine an older Harry to look.
Ginny Weasley—now Ginny Potter—is spot on with her sleek red bob, wearing a blue sweater and long black skirt.
Albus is wearing what we’ve all been waiting to see: a Hogwarts robe—his brother's hand-me-down Hogwarts robe according to Sam. Albus perfectly embodies the wizard look that we all associate with the classic magical tale, and we love how he's already adding his own interpretations to the character.
The story is supposed to be set nineteen years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and is following the adventures of Harry and his son Albus. With a cast like this, the play is sure to be a hit. It's scheduled to open July 30, 2016 at the Palace Theater in London. On the day after, there will be a script book released, making it the eighth addition to the Harry Potter series—so mark your calendars, whether you can make the trek or not.
What do you think about the continuation of the Harry Potter series?
