Prepare your ears, ladies, because Shawn Mendes has done it again—by it we mean absolutely slay us with his crazy-amazing voice. Yesterday, the guitar-weilding crooner released yet another track from his upcoming sophmore full-length, Illuminate, due out Sept. 23. Listen to the new song "Mercy" below.

So good, right?! As it turns out, Shawn is just as stoked on the song as we are. He excitedly tweeted about it earlier today...

Uh, raise your hand if you're beyond jealous of everyone who gets to hear the track live tonight!

Though his fab lead-single "Treat You Better" has a pop vibe, the other already-released songs from Illuminate, which include "Ruin," "Three Empty Words" and now "Mercy," seem to draw a *ton* of inspo from one of Shawn's favorite artists, John Mayer. So if these soulful tracks are any indication of what Illuminate will sound like as a whole, we know two things: We're incredibly excited and not at all mentally prepared for this magical album.
