5 women to watch in the 2022 Winter Olympics

Raise your hand if you spent all summer following the Olympics (and low-key Insta stalking Suni Lee). ✋ Well, do we have good news for you: the 2022 Winter Olympics are finally here! We've rounded up five amazing, inspirational female athletes you *need* to binge-watch this month.

Chloe Kim

@chloekim

When Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim isn't taking classes at Princeton or snuggling with her dog, Reeses, she's working to uplift other girls through her website Togthxr. Chloe cofounded Togthxr with other Olympians to create a place where women could share their stories and ideas about anything from sports to activism.

Alysa Liu

@alysaxliu

We at GL and Alysa Liu have a lot in common: We both love trips to Target and posting random camera roll dumps on Instagram. The main difference? She is competing in Olympic figure skating this February (and we're cheering her on). Don't worry—Alysa graduated high school early, so she has plenty of time for fun, late-night photo shoots with friends after hours of training.

Bella Wright

@bellswright

Meet Bella Wright, a totally cool, totally vegan, pro athlete. Bella will compete in alpine skiing (which is the one where they zoom down the mountain, leaning from side to side to hit down all the flags). Even after breaking her foot in December, she is ready to give it her all in Beijing. Bella spends her free time skateboarding and creating her own vegan recipes.

Hailey Langland

@haileylangland

Hailey Langland is competing at her second Olympics in the event of slopestyle snowboarding (think a skatepark, but covered in snow). Hailey is not only an artist with a snowboard, but she also loves to paint, draw and play the ukelele.

Julie Leta

@letaijulie

When Julie Leta hits the ice, her goal is always to be the *fastest*. But the Olympic speed skater knows the best way to slow down and smell the flowers is by hiking and biking with friends throughout sunny Salt Lake City.
