Hey there, Wildcats! The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season four trailer just dropped, and it's everything we ever wanted. We're talking drama, romance—and we can't believe we're saying this—the return of old cast members. (We're still freaking out!)

Here's a breakdown of the trailer, plus all the deets you need to know to be ready for one last season at East High...

The plot

In this final installment, the Wildcats are not only getting ready for a production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year but are also helping out as movie extras in a fictional High School Musical 4: The Reunion Movie. You heard that right, a reunion movie! 

Before you start digging through your closet for old HSM merch to wear to the movie premiere, let's explain. The movie isn't actually real. While they film it in the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, it's not happening IRL—kind of like the Frozen documentary the cast made in season three. But thankfully, we still get to see the return of the original High School Musical stars.

So which OG cast members are returning? So far, Corbin Bleu (Chad), Monique Coleman (Taylor ), Lucas Grabeel (Ryan), Bart Johnson (Coach Bolton), Kaycee Stroh (Martha) and Alyson Reed (Ms. Darbus) are confirmed. Still, there might be a chance for a Troy and Gabriella cameo (we're crossing all our fingers).

But that's not all! We've got more new faces joining us this fall: Matthew Sato (you might recognize him from Doogie Kamealoho, M.D.) and our former GL cover star, Kylie Cantrall, are joining the HSMTMTS cast as Mack and Dani. And if you read our October/November '22 issue, you know Kylie's character, Dani, is a modern-day take on Sharpay Evans. After the pain we felt when we said goodbye to Sharpay in the third movie (or Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, if you're into that kinda thing), we can't wait to have someone fill the void.
