Must List

A nondefinitive ranking of TSITP season two's Taylor Swift scenes (so far)

It's been the summer of The Summer I Turned Pretty and Taylor Swift, so the two together is like, *the* best thing. We've been absolutely obsessing over season two, and although we still have the finale to look forward to, Taylor Swift has already dominated the season's soundtrack. Frankly, it's been hard not to sing along to each episode. But until the final episode, here's a countdown of our favorite Taylor Swift scenes this season so far.

5. This Love (Taylor's Version)

In the first episode, a flashback carries over the finale from season one...and of course, "This Love (Taylor's Version)" played as Belly and Conrad walked back from their night at the beach. Although we only hear the absolutely ethereal instrumentals of the track, it still perfectly fits the scene as a continuation from the last season.

4. Last Kiss (Taylor's Version)

With the release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version), it's only fitting to include at least one song from the album. We don't know about you, but "Last Kiss (Taylor's Version)" had us internally screaming. And, hello? As Belly literally looks through old pictures just like the lyric, "I watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep"? Name a better song to set this scene (you can't).

3. invisible string

Okay, this one's a controversial one. In this flashback scene when Conrad takes Belly to Cousins Beach during the winter time, they run out to the sand when snow starts to fall. We know what you're thinking: There's no way to get more literal than "Snow on the Beach." But to fans' surprise, this sweet scene was accompanied by "invisible string" instead. After this episode dropped, fans had some things to say on Tik Tok.

@trisarahtops420 I am not okay #tsitp #conrad #belly ♬ Snow On The Beach - feat. More Lana Del Rey - Taylor Swift

While there are so many good arguments for both songs, "invisible string" fits the scene better, even though "Snow on the Beach" would've been more literal. It tells the story of #Bonrad and perfectly sets the tone for the sweet montage of them.

2. Delicate (Taylor's Version)

We are not okay after this scene. A sneak peek of "Delicate (Taylor's Version)"? In a #Jelly scene? Jaws = dropped. Ngl, we have to give it to them: This scene was perfection. The song perfectly captures Belly and Jere's relationship in this season, because tbh, it is pretty delicate. Every move they make (or don't make) can completely alter their relationship.

Fans were freaking out, of course. Many viewers suspected that #Bonrad would be endgame because Taylor Swift only played in #Bonrad scenes throughout the series, with "False God," "The Way I Loved You (Taylor's Version)," "Lover" and more. Well, looks like that theory just got debunked.

1. Snow on the Beach

And coming in at number one, drum roll please..."Snow on the Beach," of course. The drama, the emotion, the romance—everything about this was on point. The song starts playing when Conrad goes down to the beach after Belly leaves the party, which is literally the perfect parallel to the flashback scene with "invisible string." As we're taken back to the party, Belly looks at Jere in a sea of dancing people, and we're left with a poignant cliffhanger on the #Jelly situationship.

But the showstopper of this "Snow on the Beach" scene has to be Taylor and Steven finally confessing their feelings to each other. Their chemistry in this season so far had us swooning head over heels and (a little too) invested. So that's the verdict. The vocals and instrumentals were the perfect choice for this all-at-once chaotic, sad and exciting scene.

As we wait for the last episode, we can't wait for what songs we're going to hear next. "Back to December (Taylor's Version)?" "august?" Brb, listening to the sneak peeks we got in the trailers until the finale.
