You Wrote It

This poem about peace is exactly what we need right now

A world without war, a world at its best
Fills our hearts with desire, wishing away pain
No more bitterness, resentment, anger, or all of the rest
We screw up our faces and try not to complain

Memories scattered from a life
A handshake, a gun bent into a knot, the symbol of peace
No conflict, no strife
To achieve this universal wish, here are the keys

Opening up a world, where families aren’t torn apart
Nor completely dissipated, as though by magnetic poles
Less tears, less broken hearts
This thought, it helps me fill all the gaping holes

Inside everyone.
