3 inspiring books all girls *must* read before they’re 18

Need a book to inspire you? We've got just the perfect book for you. Well, three of them. And, they're ones we think you should read before you turn 18. Feminism, couragousness and friendship fill the pages of these rad reads. Peep our picks below:

Matilda by Roald Dahl
A classic for all ages. Who can resist a book about a young girl finding happiness in a world that tries so hard to put her down? She’s brave, clever and magical. She’s truly one of a kind. It’s a must-read for sure if not as a young girl than as a teen too. No matter the age, there’s a spark in Matilda that you can’t find anywhere else.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
You may be wondering...The Outsiders? Isn’t that a book about teenage boys? And while that might true, it was written by S.E. Hinton when she was just 16 years old, a junior in high school and published by the time she was 18. A truly remarkable feat! The book itself is jammed full of lessons and stories that won’t just draw you in, but show you the real meaning of friendship, and what it means to stick up for a friend.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
A strong female lead? Check. Manic pixie dream girl? No, nope, not happening in this book. Packed with adventure and thrill, this book is essential for all girls to see that they can be the heroes in their own world. That they are strong enough and can accomplish what they set their minds to. While we might not all be thrown into a battle for survival, it’s still important to know this: we are strong enough.
