I'm nervous! My dude's into drugs

 
I finally found the boy of my dreams. He’s nice, popular and cute. The problem is, he uses drugs and alcohol. He says he’s trying to quit, but it seems like he’s always doing it anyway. How do I get him to stop?

 

Dear Nervous,

The boy of your dreams? Keep dreaming! Tell him you are breaking up with him until he’s sober and drug-free. There is, however, such a thing as positive peer pressure. Since he says he’s trying to quit, ask him how you can help. Don’t be a nag, but make it clear that you don’t approve.

 

Never get into a car with him or any other driver who is under the influence. Too many teens die in alcohol-related car accidents (check out keepthedrive.com), and that’s a real nightmare.
