Am I rushing into a new relationship?

So my ex-boyfriend and I broke up around a month ago. I was only single for a week before I started seeing a new guy. Am I a user or just boy crazy, and is there anything wrong with my actions?

Some people are very happy to go from one boyfriend to another because everyone gets over their relationships at a different pace, but the fact that you’re asking whether it’s wrong or not shows that you’re not 100-percent comfortable with rushing into a new relationship. There are some questions to ask yourself to see if you’ve made the right decision.

Am I over my ex?

The most important thing to do before you move on is to make sure that you don’t still have feelings for your old boyfriend. If he were to come back to you and apologize, you have to know that you won’t leave your new boyfriend and go back to him. It’s normal to still care about your ex and feel sad or hurt from the break up, but you need to get over him before you move on. It’s only fair to your new guy.

Am I using my new boyfriend?

When you break, up it’s typical to feel lonely. If a boy gives you a lot of attention, you may rush into a relationship with him just because it feels comfortable. You just have to make sure that you really like this guy, that he treats you well and that you’re not just with him because you like having a boyfriend.

Am I worried about people judging me?

The most important thing is for you is to be happy. If you’re feeling good about yourself and your decisions, others will see that and support you. But there will always be people who don’t understand your situation and judge you. Don’t worry about what others say—you may have moved on quickly, but if you’re doing what you think is right, don’t let others get you down.

If you had trouble with any of these questions, or you’re not sure how you’re feeling, then you might need time and space to figure out what you want and need. Remember: There’s nothing wrong with staying single.
