My bestie's BF is abusive

One of my best friends is going out with my ex. The reason we broke up is because he's a VERY aggressive person when he doesn't get his way. He tried pressuring me into doing things with him and when I said no repeatedly, he hit me really hard. Now that he's going out with my BFF, I feel like he's going to do the same to her. How can I tell her to break up with him before it starts? She's kind of a stubborn person and won't listen to people sometimes.

Hey babe! This is totally tough, but it’s very important to do everything in your power to help your friend and your ex. He may have serious problems that he’s taking out on people close to him. Explain to your BFF, in the nicest way possible, what happened to you while you dated him. Make sure your BFF knows that you care about her and want her to be safe and happy.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for a girl to deny that anything is happening, but this is abuse. Even if your ex hasn’t hurt her yet, he still hit you. You should definitely tell a parent, teacher, counselor, or another trusted adult. He may need help and if you are brave enough to involve someone all of you may be able to help him. He doesn’t have the right to hurt anyone, no matter what else is going on in his life.
