The Scoop: Is he into you or your friend?

I really like this guy but he never wants to spend time one-on-one. He always suggests being with our group of friends that includes this really pretty friend of mine. Is he into her? How do if he’s into me or just being shy?

His Answer: “He's not interested in unless he's ignoring her when you guys are together and just flirting with you. But sometimes it's fun to be able to hang with a girl and your friends at the same time to balance it out.” – Sam M., 18
Decoded: He wants to spend his time with you, his friends and your girlfriends. You may be paranoid and thinking he’s just trying to get closer to your girls. But in reality? Guys can be shy. One of the biggest clues he’s actually into you is if he takes the time to text you first. If he feels more comfortable behind his phone, try to ease him into a solo sesh, like a coffee date. But if the boy doesn’t show any signs of interest? Maybe he isn’t so into you, but that is OK, too!
Your Move: Have fun with the group, and just give him some extra attention. Throw in an inside joke here or there. Maybe it won’t start off being your ideal date, but at least you’ll both being enjoying time with each other. The next move to get him away from your gals is to make him feel comfortable. Toss around the idea of a one-on-one date. Is he still trying to get a group together? Sit him down and let him know how you feel. Maybe once he realizes you’re actually into him and not his friends, he’ll want to hang out with just you. If not, more time for other summer flings.
