4 things that won't get you a BF this year

Every year, girls (and sometimes guys) think that changing themselves will help them land a brand new bae. Well, newsflash: When it comes to getting the guy, being yourself is as good as it gets. Here are four overrated boy-related resolutions you should scratch from your list.

Losing weight

It’s no surprise that this one’s pretty much at the top of everyone’s list. Truth be told, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look your best—but it’s all about doing it for the right reasons. If you’re gonna go hard in the gym, do it for yourself...not for him. Dig deep and look for motivation that doesn’t have to do with getting a dude. If you can’t find any, then chances are you should probably ditch this idea.

Becoming the sporty chick

OK, so you hate sports…but this year you’re committed to trying out for spring LAX and watching the Super Bowl all the way through? That makes no sense! Instead, spend time doing the things you love. You know you’re just going to be miserable watching the Super Bowl, so stop buggin' and turn on your favorite show. You don’t see guys suffering through Lifetime original movies to impress us, so why should you deny your true interests for them?

Changing your style

Whether it’s dying your hair or swapping out your clothes for a brand new wardrobe, switching up your swag to get a guy isn’t the best idea. Your style is supposed to be a reflection of your personality. If you’re a colorful, bubbly kind of gal, then showing up to school wearing all black might give him the wrong idea. Wear clothes that represent who you are. If he’s not down with your personal style, then you shouldn’t be down with him anyway.

Hanging with the “cool” kids

According to just about every teen movie out there, getting in with the popular crowd automatically means you get the guy of your dreams. Well, forget that! Instead, put your A-list dreams to rest this year, and realize that the pals you have right now are actually pretty awesome. If a guy only likes you because of the clique you keep, then he’s probably not that into you anyway. Always keep that in the back of your mind.
