Take your texting to talking IRL

When I text the guy I like, we text forever. But when I talk to him in person with all my friends around he doesn't talk to me as much. Why is that?
His Answer: “Guys don’t want to act too sweet when other people are around, so we tend to try and act cooler in front of friends and only show interest when it's one-on-one," reveals Matt, 15. "Also when it’s a group of our friends, there are other people around to talk to and hangout with, but if it's people we don’t know, it’s usually shyness that keeps us quiet.”
Decoded: Boys often worry about keeping up appearances in front of their friends. They don’t want to be seen as too sweet or affectionate with other people there. Plus, despite what they want you to think, guys can be quite shy. When you’re standing with a group of girls he’s not too close with you might seem intimidating.
Your Move: Take an effort to talk to him in person! When he’s with his friends don’t take it personally if he’s not focusing in on just you. He’s either trying to be sociable and talk with everyone or feeling like his friends will label him a softie. Get gutsy and start the convo next time!
