As you have probably realized by now, there are very few things we love more than DIY. Creating a totally cool and crafty space helps keep things personal and fun. And while some DIYs are a lil' more hardwork to get results than others, some crafts are as fun to make as they are to look at when they're done. Exhibit A: artsy monograms. Add a little flavor to your room and have your BFFs gushing over your new customized wooden monograms. It’s time to breakout your inner Picasso with these 3 ideas on how to decorate your monogram and make it one of a kind.

Purchase a wooden monogram from a seller on etsy.com. These can range in size and price depending on how big you want it to be. Then, decorate to your heart's desire. The more mess the better.

    Girly and glam

All you need to get this simple but chic monogram is your favorite colored paint and some fun ribbon to top it off. Tie your ribbon in a bow or just attach it at the top of your monogram to make it easy to hang up. Voilà! Instant masterpiece.

    Bright and bold

For those of you who are on your crafting A-game, try getting creative by creating your own signature pattern on your monogram. If free hand drawing isn’t for you, don’t be afraid to keep it simple with some polka dots or grab a stencil to help you in your time of need. Want the design to really stand out? Just add it on your middle inital. That way it'll surely be the center of attention.

    Pop art

Paint your monogram and throw it on a canvas to give it a little extra flare. Go the extra mile by painting your canvas a contrasting color or create a pattern to make your monogram complete. We love this muted striped canvas with a monogram that has the perfect pop of pink!
