Twisted Tie-Dye Tee

We love the summer camp feel of tie-dyed t-shirt. Bring back this groovy classic with our super easy tie-dye techniques.
What you’ll need:

Plain white cotton t-shirt
Rubber gloves
Rubber bands
Plastic wrap
Different colored fabric dyes (try Tulip One-Step Tie-Dye Kit)

Here’s what to do:

Prepare your workspace for by putting down plastic or newspaper.

Lay your t-shirt flat. Find the center of the shirt and lift up the fabric. (TIP…want to be a bit funky? Don’t pick the center. Pick anywhere!)

Now place rubber bands all of the fabric until you have something that resembles a snake.

Snap on your rubber gloves and mix your dye.

Apply the first color of dye to one rubber banded area of the fabric. Apply as many colors as you can in the same way. Don’t forget to flip the fabric over to be sure all sides are covered!

Make sure the fabric is completely wet with dye, but do not over-saturate it. This may cause the colors to blend together and become muddy.

Wrap your tee in plastic wrap and let it set for six to eight hours.

To set the color, wash by itself in cold water and use just a little bit of soap.
