A Guide to Your Best Weekend Ever!

Weekends are great. It doesn’t get any better than two days sans school. But with all that free time, it’s easy to think you’ve run out of fun stuff to do.

We’ve got a cool weekend planned out just for ya. You won’t say “I’m bored” once—we promise.

Friday
Just got back from school? Time to relax, chica. Take a few minutes to listen to your fave music and pamper yourself. Do a quick facial or paint your nails a hot hue.

Do something totally unexpected this evening. If you aren’t into sports, check out your school’s bball match with a friend who hearts going to the games. Not super-musical? Invite a friend over to listen to your parents’ old records or do an iPod swap with a girl who knows everything about the Beatles. If you and your buds are always going to the movies, spend the night in playing games, like Apples to Apples, Bananagrams, Scattergories or old-school Monopoly.

Saturday
Ahhh…Saturdays. It’s tempting to sleep ‘til noon, but instead, get up, have a hearty breakfast and get ready to have a fab day.

Take a few secs to get organized. Sure, it’s not a blast but you’ll feel better on Sunday if you know what you’re up against (whether it’s a whole lotta homework or a mountain of messy clothes in your room).

Set up shop on the floor and work on valentines for your BFFs. With just colored construction paper, tape, scissors, a marker and your imagination, you can make cards that are just as pretty and unique as your girlies! Don’t forget to write sweet notes inside.

For a clever way to make your Valentine’s envelope even more special, check out our crafts section.

Once you’re done, take some time to chill with a book or get energized with a fun workout.

Saturday night is all about you!
Watch your fave movie for the millionth time, or check out a classic. GL loves Singin’ in the Rain, Roman Holiday and It Happened One Night.

Take some time to daydream. What’s your dream vacation? What would be your perfect date? Make lists, draw your ideas and don’t limit yourself. Cut out pictures from magazines and make a giant collage that incorporates your ideas, too. Tape it on your wall to remind you of your goals and then get some ZZZs.

Sunday

Surprise your family with a homemade brunch in the morning. Set the table, pour some OJ and have a delicious meal ready when your fam wakes up. Try our recipes for a Healthy Breakfast Burrito, a Veggie Frittata or whip up a brunch that’s all your own! Your family will be grateful that you took the time to make such a nice meal.

Homework time. Now that you’ve recharged with some pampering, fun and good food, you can face the books with confidence. Before bed, take a few minutes to do some yoga or write in your journal. This week is gonna be amazing!
