How to (safely) celebrate your sweet 16 in 2020

You and your friends are turning the big 1-6 and looking forward to a *fab* sweet 16 birthday bash. But it's 2020—and parties during a pandemic aren't really *it* rn. If you need celebration ideas, we've got you covered.

Boho outdoor picnic

What better way to celebrate than to be outdoors? Grab a couple of your BFFs, a picnic basket and head to the beach or the backyard! Bring a few boho-chic blankets, a ton of outdoor pillows and fresh-cut flowers for the *perfect* boho vibes.

Pack fresh fruits and veggies, build your own charcuterie board and enjoy some LaCroixs for a refreshing, low-key celebration.

Make Netflix Party your BFF! Stream a To All the Boys I've Loved Before marathon with your friends for the *perfect* virtual party. Write a love letter (or two...or three) and stay up all night talking about your crushes! Channel your inner Lara Jean with a cherry turnover bake-off.

Backyard Disney movie marathon

If you *love* Disney movies, watch your faves in your backyard! You'll need a projector, pillows and blankets (for each of your friends) and some yummy snacks for a night under the stars. For an ocean-inspired watch-party, play The Little MermaidMoana and Finding Nemo while snacking on our go-tos: Te Fiti Fruit Salad, Goldfish, and sand-dollar cookies. (Don't forget the popcorn!)

DIY Pizza Party

Celebrate your sweet 16 at home with some *pizzazz*! Create a menu of your fave pizzas (margherita, greek or classic pepperoni) and build a pizza-making station complete with *all* your fave toppings. Turn your kitchen into a pizzeria with a red checkered table cloth, fairy lights and appetizers (hello cheesy garlic bread!). To add some Italian flair—and safety precautions—blow out those candles on your very own pizza cupcake.

Sweet 17 birthday bash

If you've been *dreaming* of the most fab sweet 16 ever, it's okay to postpone the party until next year! Celebrate the night of your dreams with your friends and family all in one place when it's safer. But for now, use some of our ideas for a safe and low-key sweet 16 celebration.
