No-Bake Peanut Treats

My vegetarian teenaged niece loved eating these on the train to Michigan. Make sure the raisins are fresh and plump; dried out raisins won’t grind up.
Wrap the treats in plastic wrap and throw into your backpack for a mid-school snack. (But don’t put them under a pile of books.)
What You'll Need:
1 cup each: thin oats, roasted unsalted peanuts (without skins), raisins
2 tablespoons real maple syrup
What You'll Do:

1. Put the oats and peanuts into the food processor; grind into little pieces. Add the raisins and process until the raisins are chopped well. Add the maple syrup and blend until well mixed.

2. For Peanut Balls: Roll the dough one-inch balls and place in a covered plastic container. Cover the balls with plastic wrap before putting on the lid. Refrigerate for at least one hour before eating.
For Peanut Bars: Spread the dough out into an 8-inch square pan, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. When the bars are cold, cut into squares using a sharp knife. (I prefer the balls, though, they’re not as crumbly.)
Other Ideas: For chocolate treats, add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder when you add the maple syrup.
Tools:
Food processor
Measuring cups and spoons
Rubber spatula
