The clean room resolutions you *have* to set for 2021
The new year is the *perf* time to get into a new cleaning routine! Don't know where to start? Here's a list of the best resolutions to make to ensure 2021 is your most organized year yet.
Make a place for everything (yes, *everything*)
Whether it's your newest stash of Christmas prezzies, or your textbooks that have sat on the ground since you've quite literally got them, make a place in your room where they'll go and keep them there when you're not using them. (And if there's no room for them? See the next resolution)
Keep the things that you want to, and get rid of the things you don't
While you don't have to go full Marie Kondo, if there's something in your room that you don't use or like, like your denim jacket that's 3 sizes too small, scrap it to make room for other things. If it's in good condition, consider donating it!
Make your bed every morning
This might seem like the smallest thing, but not only can it help you get in a better mindset for your day, but it can also serve as a place to put things if you're cleaning the rest of your room.
Do a deep-clean monthly
Once a month, take time to go through and clean your closet, bookshelf, desk, and anywhere where grime might accumulate. Wipe down windows and mirrors, and reorganize anything that's messy. Not only will that help you stay neat, but a clean room is the *best* way to start your month, trust us.
Change your sheets (at least more often than you are already)
Your bedsheets should be changed at least every two weeks, but bump it up to one if you've got a lot of pets, or even if you eat in bed (We get it! Sometimes it's more comfy to Netflix in bed, and it's impossible to watch Outer Banks without popcorn). Your pillowcases on the other hand, should be changed at least once a week, if not twice (especially if you have acne, changing your pillowcase can help prevent the buildup of dirt that you sleep on *every night*).
