5 easy ways to pull yourself out of a bad mood

We all go through bad times, but GL girls are strong enough to handle anything that comes their way. Whether you’re in a bad mood because of a nasty rumor at school or you’re just not feelin' it today, these tips can help improve your mood.

1. Surround yourself with family and friends
Plan a dinner date with whoever makes you feel loved and like you're worth a million bucks. Don’t be afraid to lean on your friends and family when you’re feeling below average.

2. Start a gratitude journal
It’s easy to feel like everything in your life is awful when you’re in a bad mood. When in reality, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Grab a pen and some paper and make a list of all the good in your life. Ask yourself, "What am I grateful for?" Write it down and hang it on your wall as a reminder.  Read it whenever you're feeling down—and don't forget to keep adding to it.

3. Watch your fave movies
Invite your besties over for a movie night. Pick some of your fave comedys to watch. Forget your worries and share a few laughs with your loved ones. What could be better?

4. Go for a run
You know when you’re in a bad mood all you want to do is pull the covers over your head, binge watch Netflix and eat a whole box of donuts. However, exercising been proven to improve your mood. So, create a bomb playlist with all your sweat sesh-worthy songs and go for a jog outside. You'll be surprised by how much it clears your head.

5. Immerse yourself in a project
What are you interested in? What’s your dream job? Whatever it is, start a project that will give you a little bit of experience. You want to be a writer? Write a few poems or a short story. You love to listen to music? Write your own song. Learn how to draw or play the guitar. The point is to immerse yourself into something that excites and challenges you.
