    Sports drinks

They have a good amount of electrolytes for a post workout sip, but they also have a bunch of unnecessary added sugar that's no good for ya.

Instead try: Coconut water––it has a sweet taste with natural sugar, plus there are electrolytes and potassium (which you need to recover after a workout).

    Pasta

Unfortunately, this Italian fave is loaded with unhealthy sugars and tons of carbs.

Instead try: Spaghetti squash––it’s a veggie that can be shredded just like pasta and tastes uh-mazing.

    Mashed Potatoes

Ditch the taters, heavy cream and butter (these are all no bueno for your mid section).

Instead try: Cauliflower mashed––you can get the delish creamy texture of mashed potatoes with cauliflower, just steam 'em, mash 'em, and add some almond milk instead of butter.

    French Fries

We all love them, but they’re so not good for you (obvi).

Instead try: Baked sweet potato fries––they’re a great substitute, and are super packed with nutrients.

    Mayo

This stuff tastes great on sandwiches and in your chicken salad, but it’s crazy high in fat.

Instead try: Avocado––you can still get that creamy texture on your sandwiches and salads with this super fruit. Just mash it, and use it as a spread!
