Go *nuts* for National PB&J Day with these recipes

Years ago when Mom and Dad whipped up the classic PB&J sandwich, you knew just what you were getting: Peanut butter, jelly, and (hopefully) white bread made up your school lunch nearly every day. The 2017 version of PB&J sandwiches are *so* much more than spread and bread, though. And since today is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, we’ve compiled a list of the most deliciously fun ways to get your fix. Happy spreading!

Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly

Ingredients:

- Bread
- Butter
- Peanut butter
- Jelly

Heat a skillet or griddle to 350 degrees. Spread just a little butter on one side of each slice of bread for toasting purposes. Spread your choice of peanut butter on the other side of the bread. Scatter jelly on the slice you haven’t yet used. Smash all of that deliciousness together, heat for four minutes on each side and you’ve got yourself a grilled PB&J.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Waffle Sammie

Ingredients:

- Waffles
- Peanut butter
- Jelly
- Powdered sugar
- Fresh fruit

If you’re lucky enough to sport a waffle maker in your kitchen, it’s recommended for this recipe but you can also use frozen waffles. Once you’ve decided on the type of waffle, cook them to a golden brown. You’ll need at least two to indulge in a waffle sandwich.

Take your warm waffles and spread peanut butter and jelly galore. You can just never have too much. Place the waffles together and sprinkle powdered sugar all over. For a totally fresh finish, garnish with fruit.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sushi

Ingredients:

- Peanut butter
- Jelly
- Sliced bread

First, you need to cut the crust off of the bread. Once it’s all clean of crust, completely flatten the bread (not toasted) with a rolling pin. Spread the peanut butter and jelly onto the same piece of bread. Tightly roll each slice into spirals and cut into four pieces. Serve with chopsticks!

PB &J Banana Burrito

Ingredients

- Tortillas
- Peanut butter
- Banana
- Jelly

Who ever said burritos had to include rice, meat, and veggies? We sure didn’t!

For this recipe you’ll want to begin by warming the tortillas for ten seconds in a microwave. Spread peanut butter and jelly all over the warmed tortillas. Place a peeled banana toward the edge of the tortilla. Make sure to cut it so it fits to size. Fold the ends up and roll to close the burrito.

PB&J Pizza

Ingredients:

- Pillsbury sugar cookie dough
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup of softened butter
- 2-3 Tblsp milk
- ¼ cup jelly

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 12 inch pan with cooking spray and place the cookie dough inside spreading the dough to the edges. Bake it for 8-12 minutes or until it’s cooked through and through.

While the cookie is baking, mix peanut butter, powdered sugar, butter and milk together until the consistency is creamy. Heat your jelly for 30 seconds so the consistency is thin and easy to drizzle. Remove the cookie from the oven and spread your peanut butter mix like pizza sauce. Drizzle the jelly on top and enjoy your Disney inspired dessert.

Remember that you can use any kind of peanut butter and jelly for each of these. Whether it be crunchy PB or strawberry jelly, any combo works.
