60 seconds with Disney's TRYathlon champ Olivia Holt

Everyone from Michelle Obama to Beyonce is challenging ya to get moving, but come Monday, there will be a new get-fit-fast gig in town. Disney XD will be airing a brand-new special, the first-ever TRYathlon. Celeb competitor (and Kickin’ It star) Olivia Holt is dishin’ on the challenge:

So…what’s going on?

Disney is teaming up three kids like you with a pair of Disney stars (Leo Howard, Billy Unger, Spencer Boldman, Doc Shaw and Adam Hicks join Olivia) and a professional athlete from the NFL, WNBA and NBA. The three teams are going head-to-head in extreme—and extremely zany—fitness challenges.

Olivia was psyched when Disney asked if she wanted to participate. “I love to be challenged, and I am very competitive, sports-wise,” she says. “The best element from the TRYathlon is doing something I have never done before and challenging muscles that I don't normally use.”

Game on!

Disney’s TRYathlon is all about trying new things—and that’s one of Olivia’s favorite parts of the challenge. She says the zip line bicycle was her favorite activity: “I had never done anything like that! It was so much fun.”

Her most difficult activity was what she thought would be the easiest, the swim relay. Swimming is something she loves to do with her friends, along with hiking and tumbling. But her favorite workout is Parkour. “I love it,” she says. “It teaches you how to do all sorts of stunts, and it challenges me.”

Go team

Working well with a team is an essential part of the TRYathlon, Olivia says, and that’s not just a T.V. thing. “I think working out as a team not only helps you want to keep going and working harder, [but] you [also] have other people there to challenge you and push you harder,” she says.

Catch the premiere of Disney’s TRYathlon (and watch Olivia work a bike zipline with her arms!) Monday, Aug. 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Disney XD.
